The Trip
DAY ONE - November 7, 2018
Travelers will plan to arrive by noon and travel to the Embassy Suites hotel, for a requested early check in.
The group will gather in the lobby at 2:15pm, and walk to the EJI site, as tickets to the Equal Justice Initiative Museum and Memorial will be provided for a 3pm entry time.
After getting back to the hotel and freshening up, the group will have a casual dinner at Dreamland BBQ, which is just a few blocks away. This is optional and the cost is not included.  Following dinner individuals may want to explore some of the nightlife offerings in the neighborhood, known as the Alley Entertainment District.
DAY TWO - November 8, 2018
The group will take a private guided tour to Selma. The guide will meet the group at the hotel at 9am, and the group will take a private tour bus to Selma. The tour will stop in Selma to walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge and make other stops as well, including lunch. Our guide participated in the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March and will be able to share his unique perspective with the group. The tour will return to the hotel at 3pm, and the group will have time to rest and relax before dinner.
​The group will gather at 5:45pm to make the 2.5 mile journey to Leroy Lounge, the first stop of the evening. Located in the Cloverdale neighborhood, the Leroy is known for its extensive beer menu (18 on tap, updated daily) and lounge atmosphere.
Following Leroy, the group will head to either Central or Vintage Year for dinner.
Alternatively, the group can take advantage of a variety of entertainment options. Specific offerings will be available closer to the travel date, but could include events at the Capri Theater, Montgomery Symphony, Montgomery Performing Arts Center, 1048 Jazz and Blues and BB King's. There is also a slots casino in Montgomery for those interested.
DAY THREE - November 9, 2018
For the final morning, individuals can elect to go off on their own, relax, or see some more of City through a private tour. The options below are included in the pricing.All travelers will return to San Antonio that afternoon.

Pricing is $425 per person double occupancy and $650 single occupancy

Deposits & Deadlines

Prices quoted above are not confirmed until deposits are received and processed.

All reservations must be made and deposits received by October 19, 2018

Due to the short timeline, the deposit for this trip is 100% of the cost listed above.  The cancellation policy is as follows:
  • cancellation prior to October 19, 2018 - No penalty
  • cancellation October 20-October 30, 2018 -  Penalty is $50 per person
  • cancellation October 31-November 3, 2018 - 75% penalty
  • cancellation on or after November 4, 2018 - 100% penalty
